| I was wondering if you guys heard the new double cd "Lemuria/Sirius B" by Therion that just came out. It is their best album yet, and that says alot. Also what do you guys think of the band and their music? Just curious. |

Yes, that is them lol, But they have a full orchestra, choir, and opera singers too. Set to metal music. Cool, eh? |

| I highly reccomend "Call of Dagon", The "Wondrous World of Punt", "Dark Venus Persephone", and "Lemuria" from their new double cd. Older songs worth listening to are "Birth of Venus illegitima" from the Vovin cd and "Nifelheim" from the Secret of the Runes cd. Oh and "Invinvible" from their Deggail cd. |

awesome...kazaa is finding them as we speak. i don't think anyone has the new album on there yet, no trace of it.
perhaps i shouldn't actually be admitting to downloading, with all the legal trouble over here in north america...then again...
*beams from the safety of canada*
...the judges have ruled against the recording industry here...we may download in safety, till the appeal goes through! _________________ mmm...cruelty |

| the song from Deggail is "Invincible", i misspelled it earlier. Yeah, the new cd is best for new listeners, they have refined their music. Shame it is not on Kazaa. |

I love Therion.
I think they might be the metal band that better manage to blend classical elements in their music.
As for Lemuria/Sirius B, Therion took the concept of Symphonic Metal to a whole new level. The Orchestral performance is brilliant, and the choir is simply amazing. It's also a very balanced choir. Unlike most bands that will simply have soprano singers and a few bass, Therion include the four major ranges, soprano, alt, tenor and bass.
Also, the songs' thematic content offers more than the usual "metal clichés", they go from Ancient Egypt to Rasputin, South American Myths and a lot others.
I believe these two albums will a part of musical History. |
