I didn't want to spoil the gig thread with my stories of Frankfurt so here you go, my little trip report *gg*.
I arrived on Friday evening around 6pm. Since the hotel was only about 5min from the main station I decided to walk. I had enough time and it's always good to explore the environment.. Well, the surrounding of the hotel was very special *gg*. It turned out to be in the middle of the red light district. I actually wouldn't mind that but it was a weird feeling to see prostitutes at every corner, dildos in windows of the stores and junkies putting a shot on the street. Well, it's like with sharks.. as long as they're not hungry, they're not dangerous *gg*. The room of the hotel seemed a bit nasty (tho clean) on first sight but we got used to it, so actually recommendable and pretty cheap. Soon after the girls arrived we went out for some drinks, choosing the irish pub nearby for the first evening. There was a karaoke evening (every Friday and Saturday) and even tho none of us went on the stage, we had a nice party Very Happy.
On Saturday, we spent the day shopping. Frankfurt turned out to be a great city for finding some cheap and nice clothes Very Happy . After the shopping we went to the terrace of the Galeria Kaufhof where we had a beautiful view on Frankfurt's skyline at night. Very impressive!!! The evening we went out to a metal bar in the "bar area" at the other side of the river Main. Not really the most modern place but pretty cozy and with a cool DJ playing Slayer, Velvet Revolver, Twisted Sisters, Hypocrisy, HIM... unfortunatelly no Entwine CDs tho..
After a beauty sleep we went to the Maintower near the hotel. The view terrace is about 200m high and offers the most impressive (and scary *g*) view on the whole city. Unfortunatelly there was a bit fog so some pics turned out a bit fuzzy, but some got quite nice (coming soon ). The rest of the day belonged to Entwine Very Happy
On Monday we checked out a bit more of the "shopping mile". Again found cheap and nice things Very Happy . On the evening we visited the metal bar again, followed by some latino bars. That made the getting up today (Tuesday) quite hard *g* but definitelly, it was worth it!!

Summary: Frankfurt is a perfect place to do some sightseeing, offering some strong impressions. It has got a lot of nice shops in the "shopping mile" where you can find nice and trendy stuff for a very nice price and it's nightlife is everything but boring! Definitelly worth a second visit
